Thank you for your ongoing coverage of what life is like for ordinary Russians nowadays, especially in Petersburg, where you have your own country home. I follow Danny Davis, Doug MacGregor, Larry Johnson, Scott Ritter, Mark Sleboda and others to keep abreast of the ongoing war between Russia, Ukraine and NATO, but I find your analyses refreshing as you keep in touch with taxi drivers and other ordinary Russian-speaking people and are clearly not a supporter of American imperialism and are not filled with anti-Russian prejudices like Anne Applebaum, Timothy Snyder, George Soros and so many others. I think you are probably right that the cracking down on internet services is an attempt to restrict access to European websites and information and not to reducing Ukrainian drone strikes. Clearly the drones have been striking in both directions, and in fact increasing since the internet has been cut. My husband cannot even speak with his daughter in Moscow from our home in Scranton, PA for quite some time, although his son in Moscow seems to have found a way to bypass this restriction, probably with VPN. Anyway, I really enjoy your posts on Substack and have a paid subscription so that I can keep following you. Please keep up the great work you are doing and enjoy those fresh berries and asparagus!

I appreciate your insights on Russia, but I disagree with many of your positions of late. Why should Putin respond to every grubby human rights abuse by NATO and its butt-boy Ukraine? He should give it back in one huge sweep. all the repeat offenders get back just a BIT of what they gave. Why response when they await it? Why not make them say, "oh, look at the wusses." and then decapitate Brussels, not hard to do as there are few "heads" there.
